Yup, it’s the 12th and you’ve got 2 days left to deliver a token of love and appreciation to your beloved. Not being a fan of gift cards, generic cards or anything too conventional, here are a few ideas that can be reasonably put together in the next few days for not a lotta a cash, but a whole lotta heart.
Valentine Rice Krispy Treats
Butter, marshmallows and a $2 heart-shaped cookie cutter never tasted so sweet! Melt 4 cups of mini marshmallows with 3 tablespoons of butter. Add 3 drops of red food coloring and add 6 cups of Rice Krispy, stir. Flatten it out on a baking sheet and let cool. Press the cookie cutters of your choice. Enjoy.
Valentine Mix CD with Custom Sleeve
Can anything be simpler or more aww-inducing than a compilation of “our songs?” Find a CD sleeve template online. Pick songs. Print. Want to take it to the next level? Buy an iPod Shuffle ($49) and load up to 15 hours of your songs.
Spa in a Jar
Buy a mason jar at Michael’s. Buy your travel-sized goodies at Target (scrubs, salts, polish, creams, etc.) Stick on your custom label and voila, Spa in a Jar. Kick it up a notch by adding fuzzy slippers and a robe.
Romantic Movie Night Box
Enhance a movie night with dinner courtesy of grubhub.com, a nice Pinot (or IPA), concession stand snacks, popcorn, Snuggies, a blanket, beloved movies and box of tissue to wipe away pesky tears.
