L.A. Weekend Non-Boring Guide for 6/29-7/1
29 Friday Jun 2012
Friday, 6/29/12: Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted“
“Ted” opens today and I’ve been counting down the days since I first saw the promo! For the record, I also loved “The Artist,” “Midnight in Paris,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” “The Sound of Music,” “West Side Story” and BOTH “Sex in the City” movies. If wanting to see “Ted” makes me wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
Saturday, 6/30/12: Griffith Park Shakespeare Festival
“The Winter’s Tale” will be performed tonight in Griffith Park. Pre-show events included free workshops led by ISC teaching artists. You can learn about the play, explore Shakespeare’s language, take a backstage tour and try out how it feels on the ISC stage.
Montrose Block Party & Hot Rod Festival
Shop, eat and play all afternoon at the Montrose Block Party & Hot Rod Festival. Visitors will be treated with music, food and discounts throughout Montrose’ historic downtown.
Sunday, 7/1/12: 2012 Anime Expo in DTLA
Bust out your favorite school girl or boy outfits, DTLA is going to be riddled with Asians and non-Asians for Anime Expo 2012. Live out your yellow fever fantasies at the AX Maid Cafe and check out the latest and greatest in Japanese costumery.
